Solutions Partner Specializes In
Communications Solutions
Lantana Communications of Arlington, Texas
has a company philosophy that says, ”People
Buy From People.”
This is more than just a slogan, however, it
is how Lantana does its job. It starts with
keeping their people — including
consultants, technicians, project managers
and other staff members — up to speed on the
latest technology. “We get people who can
talk to customers regarding their issues,”
says Gary Crapson, director of business
development for Lantana.
Since its founding in 1990, Lantana has
specialized in business communications. With
the convergence of voice and data in the
last few years, Lantana has brought its vast
experience in the traditional telephone
service segment into the growing arena of
enterprise networks and VoIP (voice over
Internet protocol) technology.
Today, Lantana has successfully helped
small, medium and large businesses roll out
new voice and data communication systems and
is experiencing a growth rate of 15-20% per
year.
With 65 employees, Lantana serves customers
across the country through six offices in
Texas, as well as locations in Albuquerque,
New Mexico and Denver, Colorado.
Lantana has aligned itself with some of the
best names in the business and is an Avaya
Platinum Business Partner. The company has
also been a Liebert Solutions Partner for
the last year.
“The thing that differentiates Lantana is
looking at not just, say, the UPS — but the
overall reliability required in today’s
environment,” said Crapson. “With the
introduction of PoE (power over Ethernet)
you are creating temperature and humidity
levels in the IDF and MDF that were not
there before. And this affects the operation
of the entire network.”
“Because we are a telecom partner going into
a data-driven world that is now putting
voice over a network infrastructure, we are
able to leverage our past experience in
these new applications,” he added. “What we
learned in the service provider area is now
being used in the enterprise business and
VOIP.”
Lantana recognizes the special protection
needs now facing networks that are operating
VoIP systems. This is why working with
Liebert has worked out so well.
Crapson met Alan Minikes of local Liebert
Representative Tech-Plan, Plano, Texas, at a
partner event. Liking what he saw in Liebert’s product solutions, Lantana became
a Liebert solutions partner. “Across the
board, Liebert has great people to work
with,” said Crapson. “They’re like an
extension of our sales force.”
Among Lantana’s most widely used Liebert
solutions are Liebert PowerSure PSI and
Liebert GXT 6000 UPS systems. As part of its
philosophy of providing a total availability
solution, Lantana is also looking at
utilizing Emerson DC power products and the
Liebert Foundation MCR enclosure systems
with integral cooling for high efficiency
system availability.
“Adding Liebert products to our mix of
solutions has enabled us to offer better
solutions and has helped to increase our
overall margins by allowing us to up-sell
customers to the most advanced level of
power protection technology,” Crapson said. |
