Summary
Qualifies leads and solicits orders for products or services over the telephone by performing the following duties.

Education/Experience
Minimum three years related experience in a professional office environment.

Duties
  • Helps develop established script to use when calling prospects
  • Calls prospective customers in designated market area to qualify leads and explain type of service or product offered
  • Secures and places orders with others for filling
  • Enters names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects solicited into computer database system
  • Follows up with customers to assure satisfaction, responds to queries, solicit further sales, and solve or refer problems
  • Develops lists of prospects from city and telephone directories, trade and professional association membership lists, and other public records
  • Prepares report on sales activities.

Language Ability
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software and Internet software.
